28 years of Snorlax naps · 18 cards
Snorlax has been napping on Pokémon cards since 1998, and it has never once set an alarm. Here is every sleeping Snorlax in the collection, oldest to newest, plus one cameo where it nods off on the Pokémon Center floor.
#1 / Vending Machine Series 1 / 143 / Common
Snorlax / Japanese / Keita Takahashi
Where it all begins: a fan’s drawing that won CoroCoro’s 1998 contest, with Snorlax asleep in the middle of the road, exactly where its Pokédex says it might be.
#2 / Wizards Promos / 49 / Promo
Snorlax / English / Craig Turvey
The classic: out cold under the moon with comic-strip Z’s floating overhead. If you picture a sleeping Snorlax, you’re probably picturing this one.
#3 / Gym Heroes / 33/132 / Rare
Snorlax / English / Shin-ichi Yoshida
Face-down among empty bottles and wrappers. Team Rocket’s Snorlax ate everything in reach and called it a night.
#4 / Skyridge / 100/144 / Common
Snorlax / English / Naoyo Kimura
Up to its chin in a steaming hot spring, snowy mountains behind it. It is not getting out.
#5 / Kalos Starter Set / 26/39 / Common
Snorlax / English / Naoki Saito
Face-down in a bed of white flowers, smiling. Possibly the gentlest nap in the collection.
#6 / Generations / 58/83 / Rare Holo
Snorlax / English / Mitsuhiro Arita
Just Snorlax, tall grass and nothing else. It dropped where it stood.
#7 / Fates Collide / 77/124 / Rare
Snorlax / English / Tomokazu Komiya
The only Snorlax nap that causes a stampede: it rolls through town fast asleep, and its attack hits harder while it’s Asleep.
#8 / Unbroken Bonds / 158/214 / Rare Holo
Snorlax / English / kanahei
Asleep under the trees with a Torchic on its head and two Pikachu nearby. Nobody is in a hurry to wake it.
#10 / Sword & Shield Promos / SWSH032 / Promo
Snorlax / English / Tika Matsuno
A soft night sky and a cozy patch of ground. Classic bedtime.
#11 / Vivid Voltage / 131/185 / Rare Holo
Snorlax / English / Atsuko Nishida
Slumped against a forest tree after a feast, in Atsuko Nishida’s warm storybook style.
#12 / Fusion Strike / 206/264 / Common
Snorlax / English / Oswaldo KATO
Flat on its back under an apple tree, half-eaten apples all around. Food coma, case closed.
#13 / Pokémon GO / 55/78 / Rare Holo
Snorlax / English / N-DESIGN Inc.
Blocking a real-world entrance, just like in the game. Please walk around.
#14 / Lost Origin / 143/196 / Rare Holo
Snorlax / English / 0313
Chin on its arm in a field of yellow flowers. Pure pastoral bliss.
#15 / Crown Zenith / 109/159 / Rare
Snorlax / English / Asako Ito
Knitted in yarn by Asako Ito and caught mid-yawn on a felt-flower hill. A handmade nap.
#16 / Scarlet & Violet Promos / 51/215 / Promo
Snorlax / English / GOSSAN
Asleep by a pond while a Pidgey perches on its belly and a Diglett pops up nearby. Its own tiny ecosystem.
#17 / ME: 30th Celebration / 119/128 / Common
Snorlax / English / Aya Kusube
Knocked out among wild berries and mushrooms in Aya Kusube’s fairytale woods. Twenty-eight years in, still napping.

Chansey / English / Toshinao Aoki
Bonus cameo: Chansey is hard at work in the Pokémon Center while Snorlax naps on the tiled floor.
